Hung out to dry

First shot is of a poor guy left hung out to dry by his landlord. His 'flat' in Montpellier resembled more of an underground cave. Despite lack of running water, amongst other things, the owner refused to make repairs and is even trying to force eviction... Photo was taken for L'Herault du Jour', a local daily, I think owned by the French communist party! Rest are pictures on grim day at the beach in Palavas, Montpellier.

April 4th, CPE demonstrations, Montpellier

April 4th demonstration. Again everybody involved here. Strong show of resistance from young and old, students, families, unions, quite a parade, show much to capture. Chirac has finally succumb it seems!

March 28, CPE Demonstrations, Montpellier

12PM No Trams today, the streets are quiet, and the Lycees under police surveillance.




















230PM Space in front of the Arc de Triomphe is now a sea of people. Estimated 50,000 people demonstrate but who can know for sure?















330PM En route to Place Albert Premier. All ages involved in the march.















4PM La Baillarde. People line streets en route to the Place de la Comedie. Some Firecrackers are let off here but no violence whatsoever throughout the entire day.















430PM Demonstrators file into La Place de La Comedie. The STAPS students put on a show with this crazy dance routine.
